Boy's Yoked, Pleated, Tunic

This tunic is based on a wonderful period image that I would date to the 1850's. The embroidered drawers sticking out from below the tunic or dress of children was very popular during that time.

To bring this fashion into the 1860's, the muslin drawers are replaced with those of wool and the decorated collar is removed.

My tunic is made of gray, tropical weight wool. The drawers are of navy the same color as the leather belt. This beautiful little boy is four years old and should be able to ware this tunic for another season.
